It’s no secret that many in Hollywood and the American entertainment industry are not huge Trump fans. So it was no surprise that many blasted the President for his recent decision to eliminate Iranian military General Qassem Soleimani. Rapper Cardi B was one such person.
She tweeted out her disgust on January 3rd, announcing that she would be filing for Nigerian citizenship as a result.
She wrote, “Naaaaa these memes are f-ckin but sh-t ain’t no joke! Specially being from New York. Its sad this man is putting Americans live in danger. Dumbest move Trump did till date…I’m filing for my Nigerian citizenship.”
However, a mere ten days later, she changed her mind and said she wants to run for Congress instead.
“I do feel like if I go back to school and focus up I can be part of Congress. I deadass have sooo much ideas that make sense. I just need a couple of years of school and I can shake the table.”
Later she added, “I think I want to be a politician. I really love government even tho I don’t agree with Government.”
Now, normally, an announcement like this from a person with no political career would simply be laughed off. However, we have to admit that Cardi B might actually be a bit more qualified for Congress than some who are already there, such as Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. That is if we can ignore her constant grammatical errors and affinity for profane language.
Let’s make a little comparison, shall we?
While both were born in New York City, each woman was handed a much different life path. Cardi B struggled through school amid living in poverty and being heavily affected by neighborhood gang activity. When she graduated, she got a job at an Amish Market until she was fired and decided to become a stripper at age 19.
It was at this time that she also went back to school, enrolling in a local community college. However, the struggles of working full time and trying to keep up in school eventually forced her to drop out. But her entrepreneurial spirit allowed her to achieve much greater things.
Soon she was idolized as an online rap sensation, and shortly after that began her climb to the top of stardom, working her butt off without the college degrees so many others had. And she has excelled despite also being a young mother.
AOC, on the other hand, didn’t seem to struggle with anything. She did well in high school, earning several awards, as well as a fellowship that allowed her to attend Boston University after graduation. During college, she served in Senator Ted Kennedy’s office. And she graduated cum laude with two degrees.
After college, become a waitress and bartender simply skating through life, until she got a call from the far left about running for Congress. She was practically handed the seat by her party.
But Cardi B’s life experiences aren’t the only things that point to a better congress member.
She also understands that Americans are taxed far too much, while AOC is willing to pile on more and more each year to pay for her only claim to power: her Green New Deal.
Cardi B demands to know what exactly the government is doing with her money. While she isn’t thrilled that it’s being taken, she has an even bigger problem with not understanding what “Uncle Sam,” as she says, is doing with those taxes.
In addition, the rapper/songwriter seems to have better ideas on what should be fixed in her hometown. Instead of banning big companies like Amazon from New York City and eliminating the possibility of thousands of new jobs for her constituents, like AOC, Cardi B has more practical notions.
The first of which would be to get rid of rats and raccoons in the city.
When asked by Jimmy Kimmel one evening what she would do if she were mayor, Cardi B replied, “It’s something that you have to be extremely responsible for. So many things that I want to do like, rats, raccoons, I wanna get rid of them.”
At least this is something that could actually help New Yorkers.
And while the jury is still out on Cardi B being a good congresswoman, we already know that AOC isn’t. All the socialistic woman seems to want is more and more followers on social media, which adds up to more money, and more power.
